Windy Saddle -Sunday 15th March
So lets 'march into March' wuth an exhilarating meander up to Windy Saddle. Infact it is a steady climb, on a good track and for those of us who have done the walk in the past few years we are sure to notice a healthy forest of grass trees, ferns, paper backs & large eucalypts recovering from fire & flood. At Windy Saddle we are 300meters above sea level - it is a lovely open grass area surrounded by bush & flanked by Mt McAlister to the south-west & Mount Ramsey to the north.
Meet at the Information Centre car park in Tidal River at 9.30 & we will catch the shuttle bus to the Oberon car park. At the completion of the walk we will shuttle bus back to a sumptuous morning tea.....which will be well earned!!
"He could tell by the way animals walked that they were keeping time to to some kind of music. Maybe it was the song in their own hearts that they walked to."
